French advertising firm Publicis Groupe SA's (PUB.FR) Chief Executive Tuesday said the global advertising market is expected to drop between 7% and 8% in 2009.

Publicis' unit ZenithOptimedia in April said the global market should decline 6.9%.

Maurice Levy also said he expects the financial impact of General Motors Corp.'s bankruptcy filing to be "largely" below the EUR55 million predicted last week.

"The EUR55 million is a worst-case scenario," Levy said during the group's annual meeting in Paris.
