Site provides information on program to reclaim at-risk youths

Oklahoma’s Thunderbird Youth Academy recently launched a new program website (http://www.ok.gov/thunderbird). The site provides information about Oklahoma’s Thunderbird Youth Academy, and the National Guard Youth ChallenNGe Program, a community-based program which trains and mentors 16-18 year old high school dropouts so that they can become productive citizens in America’s future.

“Thunderbird Youth Academy has graduated more than 3,700 of Oklahoma's at-risk teens, putting them on a path of success,” said Thunderbird Youth Academy Director, Cherie Stierwalt. “I am pleased that this new site can raise awareness of what Thunderbird Youth Academy can do for Oklahoma’s at-risk youth.”

In addition to program information, the new website offers a cadet application form, which is submitted online, program information in English and Spanish, and easily accessible frequently asked questions for those interested in the Thunderbird Youth Academy Programs.

The new website was built using OK.gov’s GoGov Web Management Suite, allowing for easy and quick web development and maintenance, while utilizing a standard state agency web template. The Thunderbird Youth Academy website and services result from a partnership between the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) and OK.gov. More information about the new site can be found at http://www.ok.gov/thunderbird.
