Hampton Trust PLC ('Hampton Trust' or the 'Company')

The Company received notification on 28 May 2003 that, as a result of a transfer
from Marplace (Number 365) Limited of all its ordinary shares in the Company on
26 May 2003, Southern Metals and Mining Limited, a private company owned by
Graeme Jackson, Chairman of Hampton Trust and Felix Pole, former non-executive
director of the Company, has a beneficial interest in the Company of 12,880,473
ordinary shares, representing approximately 9.47 per cent. of the issued
ordinary share capital in the Company.


The beneficial holdings of the directors remain unchanged.


The Company also announces that Mr Neil Ankers will not be submitting himself
for re-election to the Board at the forthcoming AGM. Mr Ankers leaves the
Company to pursue his private business interests.
