Barnes & Noble Education Names Michael C. Miller Chief Legal Officer & Vice President of Corporate Affairs

(“the Company” or “BNED”), one of America’s largest contract
operators of bookstores on college and university campuses and a
leading provider of digital education services, today announced
that Michael C. Miller has been named Chief Legal Officer &
Vice President of Corporate Affairs. Mr. Miller will report to Max
J. Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Barnes & Noble
Education. Suzanne E. Andrews will continue as Vice President,
General Counsel, and Secretary of the Board of Directors, and will
report to Mr. Miller.
Mr. Miller will oversee all legal matters, including corporate,
litigation, labor and employment matters and mergers and
acquisitions, as well as the Company’s state and federal government
affairs program and lobbying initiatives.

Mr. Miller joins Barnes & Noble Education from Monster
Worldwide where he served as Executive Vice President, General
Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Monster, Mr. Miller served
in various senior legal capacities at Motorola and at Symbol
Technologies. He brings over 19 years of legal experience and was
previously associated with Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP and
Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts in New York earlier in his
career.
Having earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Maurice A. Deane
School of Law at Hofstra University in 1997, Mr. Miller went on to
earn his MBA in Business Administration and Management, General
from Long Island University in 2007. He earned a bachelor’s degree
from the College of the Holy Cross in 1994.
