Digital Learning Management Signs E-Learning Distribution Agreement
With Prosoft Prosoft's Library of More Than 200 Titles to Be
Offered Through CourseMate(TM) LMS LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Learning Management Corporation
(Digital) (OTC:DGTL) (BULLETIN BOARD: DGTL) today announced that it
has signed an agreement with ProsoftTraining (Prosoft)
(NASDAQ:POSO) to bundle over 200 of Prosoft's training courses in
Information Technology ('IT') with Digital's On-line Learning
System and offer the package to the educational marketplace.
Digital has relationships with many colleges and universities in
California, representing thousands of enrolled students. With the
CourseMate(TM) platform, Prosoft's e-learning courses can be
tailored to conform to Advanced Distributed Learning/Sharable
Content Object Reference Model (ADL/SCORM) standards and thus
become more attractive to academic institutions seeking conformance
with such standards. SCORM defines the technical foundations of a
Web-based learning environment. At its simplest, SCORM specifies
guidelines that enable Web-based learning systems to locate,
import, share, reuse and export content in a standardized way.
SCORM-conforming learning management systems and e-learning content
authoring tools, such as CourseMate(TM), make it easy to aggregate
and manage sharable learning content. "We believe Digital's
existing relationships and delivery capability will expand our
reach in the college and university e-learning marketplace. This
partnership provides a cost-effective way for us to reach a larger
virtual-learning audience," observed Vince McLain, Prosoft's vice
president of sales. "We're excited to add Digital as a distribution
partner in this growing part of the market." Zeb Bhatti, CEO of
Digital, commented, "This arrangement opens the door to additional
revenue opportunities. By joining forces with Prosoft, Digital has
engaged a strong partner with a solid e-learning content library in
the IT domain. We can provide Prosoft with the ability to better
penetrate the college and university e-learning marketplace, where
SCORM conformity is highly desirable. Our delivery system offers
more value-added content components, such as homework assignments,
additional tests and exams, and online mentoring and course
moderation by faculty members." He added, "The strength of our
CourseMate(TM) LMS is its ability to aggregate content from many
sources and package the content with valuable collaboration tools.
With this partnership, Digital will aggregate Prosoft's IT course
content, and offer it to schools and universities as products
tailored to each institution's needs." The turnkey CourseMate(TM)
offering of Prosoft e-learning curriculum will be available at the
end of the month. Academic institutions can sign up now by visiting
Digital's Web site http://www.coursemate.com/, and the Virtual IT
University will be configured while the content aggregation is in
process. About Digital Learning Management The Company is a
