German government ministers are set to meet Thursday to discuss a bridge financing for General Motors Corp.'s (GM) German unit Adam Opel GmbH, a government official told Dow Jones Newswires Wednesday.

The official, who asked not to be named, said the meeting would be attended by German Vice Chancellor Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck, German Labor Minister Olaf Scholz, German Economics Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg and Thomas de Maiziere, the head of the chancellery.

The meeting comes amid a possible insolvency of General Motors. Zu Guttenberg in the past said he favors a trustee model for Opel.
