--Boeing Co. plans to hire 10,000 workers in 2023 as it increases jetliner production and continues to recover from the pandemic, the company said, according to a Friday report from Reuters.

--The company plans to hire additional workers in its business, engineering and manufacturing units to meet growing demand, Reuters reported.

--Boeing also is expected to trim some support jobs, according to the report.

--Boeing told Reuters that it will "lower staffing within some support functions" but declined to comment on how many jobs it will cut in 2023.

--The move is meant to better align resources to support current products and technology development, Reuters reported.

--Boeing representatives did not immediately return requests for comment to Dow Jones Newswires.
