The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) unveiled an
online “Donate” option to make it much easier for donors to
contribute to the Military Family Assistance (MFA) Fund.
The MFA Fund provides financial support to Louisiana’s veterans
and their families when they experience financial
hardships. To receive funds through MFA, certain criteria must be
met and a completed application must be submitted to LDVA, which
includes all required supporting documentation. MFA can pay up to
$10,000 per veteran claim in a 12-month period.
To provide this service online, the LDVA has worked closely with
Baton Rouge firm ThreeSixtyEight and NIC subsidiary Louisiana
Interactive to make the user experience as friendly as possible for
Louisiana’s military families and their supporters. This new
feature will help raise much-needed donations for this fund, which
provided $350,000 of emergency relief funds to veterans affected by
the unprecedented flooding in 2016.
“We are excited to introduce a new ‘Donate’ option on our
website page,” said Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs
Secretary Joey Strickland. “We need to continue to support
Louisiana’s 322,607 veterans, their families and our active-duty
service members, and the MFA Fund does just that.”
ThreeSixtyEight’s CEO Kenny Nguyen added, “The LDVA is a key
player in helping veterans all across Louisiana get the support
they need to live normal and happy lives. We are proud to support
their efforts and will always look to support the veteran heroes
that live in our state. We hope to see others donate to this
fund.”
As Louisiana’s digital government partner, Louisiana
Interactive’s General Manager Kellie Benoit said, “We are honored
to work with Veterans Affairs to provide an online donation option
for the Military Family Assistance Fund. We hope citizens find this
service as an efficient way to support the Veterans of
Louisiana.”
Now, it's easier than ever for people to connect with the LDVA
and make a contribution through its website to help support
Louisiana’s military families.
