Pennsylvanians Join Campaign and Trigger Thousands of Meal
Donations to Feed the Hungry ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 25
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Keystone State knows the meaning of
sharing. Pennsylvania is filled with kind, caring people who are
making a difference by simply sharing a story. In fact, thousands
of Pennsylvanians have told their everyday acts of sharing on
http://www.spreadthesharing.com/ and in doing so, have helped feed
families in need. With each story shared on the site, a meal(1) is
provided to a hungry family through America's Second Harvest-The
Nation's Food Bank Network. Sponsored by Shedd's Country Crock(R),
the campaign challenges Americans to share one million sharing
stories by Thanksgiving 2007. To date, more than 275,000 meals have
been donated. Many of the sharing stories in Pennsylvania involve
sharing the comforts of home with others. Cheyenne, a contributor
from Reading, regularly shares her lunch with a fellow employee and
their friendship has benefited. Ashleigh, a 10-year-old from Mont
Alto, regularly volunteers at a food shelter. Last year, she
actually donated money she saved to buy an entire day's worth of
meals for the hungry. Other sharing stories include the gift of
time, talents and special abilities. In Meadville, Moey joined
forces with a group of local musicians and organized a benefit
concert for a 9-year-old with Spina Bifida. The event raised money
allowing the boy's family to install a much-needed elevator in
their home. Noah, from Philadelphia, was in the process of moving
and shared a blanket and warm clothing with a man in need. From
baking cookies for a neighbor to bringing flowers to a sick friend,
acts of sharing posted on the web site not only have a positive
impact in communities across Pennsylvania but also help feed
families at risk nationwide. Like Ashleigh, Noah and their fellow
Pennsylvanians, there are countless others from across the country
who have shared inspirational stories and are making a difference
in their communities. To share your story and help feed a family in
need, simply visit Spread The Sharing at
http://www.spreadthesharing.com/ and help Country Crock donate up
to one million meals by Thanksgiving 2007. About Unilever Unilever
