MedLink (OTCQB: MLKNA), a leading provider of clinical software and
healthcare IT solutions, announced today that it has entered into a
agreement with Baptist Health South Florida, the largest faith
based, not-for-profit health care organization in Florida as one of
the vendors to participate in Baptist Health's EHR (Electronic
Health Record) Donation Program. Baptist Health South Florida, with
a long standing pedigree as a national leader in the adoption of
healthcare IT across its network of 6 hospitals in southeast
Florida with more than 1,500 beds, and as part of its continuing
commitment to enable excellent quality care and services, will
assist its more than 2,000 physicians in the adoption of Electronic
Health Records in their private practices through an EHR Donation
Program.
MedLink's iSuite EHR will be available to qualified affiliated
Baptist physicians, in a program that will subsidize the cost of up
to 85% of implementing and operating the iSuite EHR. The Baptist
subsidies over the next three years will be a substantial
investment; however, a fully connected Baptist Health system would
provide immediate returns with just greater efficiencies in the
delivery of care alone. The EHR Donation Program may also help
Baptist Health physicians satisfy the government's requirements for
achieving 'meaningful use' by implementing EHR's in their
practices, which may enable those physicians to qualify for
additional incentive dollars over the next 5 years based on their
collection and reporting of quality data, and ultimately improving
the quality of care and improved patient outcomes.
Baptist Health's EHR donation Program will promote the adoption
of interoperable Electronic Health Records that will improve the
quality of patient care as well as the overall efficiency in the
delivery of health care to the patient. Baptist is seeking to
create and promote a community wide initiative of linking hospital
services, physicians and other healthcare providers to offer a
truly integrated healthcare delivery system by providing physicians
with better access to real time clinical patient information and
ultimately better information. A connected system will enable
better transition of care with the ultimate goal of achieving lower
costs with enhanced patient care, efficiencies and better
outcomes.
MedLink's iSuite 4.0 EHR, a CCHIT 2011 Certified Ambulatory EHR
and 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB certified EHR qualifies its users for
'meaningful use,' allowing for the automation of everyday clinical
functions such as prescriptions, documenting patient visits, lab
ordering, creating notes and tasks and much more to create
immediate efficiencies in practice productivity. Deployed as a
web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the iSuite EHR can be
accessed securely from any PC or internet enabled device,
significantly reducing the upfront hardware costs required for
implementing traditional software based EHR systems while also
freeing physicians in smaller practices from the need to manage
costly software, networking and hardware issues and allowing for a
faster implementations.
"Baptist Health South Florida is regularly recognized as one of
the nation's leading hospitals with advanced IT systems and is at
the forefront of a national trend of assisting their ambulatory
care physician in the adoption of Electronic Health Records and the
advancement of a connected health network," stated Ray Vuono,
President and CEO of MedLink, "MedLink is truly excited to now be a
part of the Baptist Health initiative and I applaud their efforts
in advancing a community wide interoperability model by providing
their physicians and staff with the tools to truly advance
collaboration."
