MONTREAL, QUEBEC ("Kolombo") announces that it successfully
completed a series of tests for a security application dedicated to
liquid and solid food transportation.
This prevention application against alterations of liquid and
solid food cargo allows detection of variations of certain
criteria, such as temperature or pressure inside the container or
cistern, which can affect food quality. It is also possible to
ascertain whether or not the container or cistern has been opened
after leaving the plant or if additives have been added during
transit. Following this successful testing, completed with the
collaboration of a client, Kolombo plans to begin commercialization
in the next weeks and has already identified several additional
clients interested by such an application.
"This security application will permit to confirm that food
conservation during transit has been optimal and that no external
factor may have affected quality and integrity", declares Mr.
Martin Arsenault, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kolombo.
"Since any unauthorized opening of the container or cistern and any
unplanned stop during transportation are automatically identified,
documented, communicated and controlled, we expect that this
application will be used to counter food related bio-terrorism.
This major innovation for the transportation industry goes way
beyond simple theft prevention".
