TTPCom to take minority stake in Synergenix Interactive
Wireless gaming activities to be merged
Cambridge, UK, 19 August, 2003. TTP Communications plc (LSE:TTC) ("TTPCom"),
the world leading independent supplier of digital wireless communications
technology, today announces that its subsidiary, TTPCom Limited, has taken a
significant minority stake in Synergenix Interactive AB as part of an agreement
that will lead to the convergence of their wireless gaming activities.
Synergenix has developed mophunTM, a wireless gaming platform which features in
the Sony Ericsson T300, T310 and T610 mobile phones.
TTP Communications will receive a 43% stake in the combined business in return
for an initial cash consideration of #425k and deferred consideration of #425k,
contingent on certain performance criteria being met. TTP Communications will
also grant Synergenix a software licence for WGE, its wireless graphics engine.
In bringing together their wireless gaming activities, both companies aim to
create a single dominant wireless gaming standard which will be complementary to
JavaTM, and which is supported by a wide range of terminal manufacturers,
operators and games developers.
