France has decided to suspend the use of AstraZeneca PLC's
Covid-19 vaccine, joining a number of European countries that have
paused the rollout of the vaccine after a small number of
blood-clotting cases raised concerns.
France will suspend the use of the shot as a precaution, in
hopes that it will be able to resume using it shortly provided the
European Medicines Agency's advice allows it, President Emmanuel
Macron said Monday. The regulator will issue guidance on the
AstraZeneca vaccine on Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Macron said.
Earlier on Monday, Germany said it was temporarily stopping the
administration of Covid-19 vaccines produced by AstraZeneca,
joining other European countries to take this measure.
