GYRUS TO APPOINT NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR


Gyrus Group PLC (Gyrus) is to appoint a new Finance Director. Tom Murphy,
currently Vice President Finance and Administration at Gyrus's US subsidiary
Everest Medical, will take over from John Bradshaw effective from 28th
February 200l.

Tom Murphy (41) has been responsible for handling Everest's NASDAQ listing
since 1994.  With eighteen years financial and administrative experience he
started his career with the Hertz Corporation. He then joined FMG Tsumura as
Vice President Finance and was Vice President Finance with Da Vinci Medical
Inc before joining Everest.  He graduated with an accounting degree from Iona
College and took his MBA at the University of St Thomas.
