The Company announces that, largely in order to fund the cost of the recent
exercise of options Chris Chedgzoy has disposed of the following shares:

Friday 15 January 1999        950,000 shares at 16.875p
Monday 18 January 1999        250,000 shares at 20p

Chris Chedgzoy's total holding following this disposal is 4,736,100 which is
equivalent to 0.93% of the current issued share capital of 508,213,798
ordinary shares of 2p.
