Fitzwilton plc

Following Stoneworth Investment Ltd's bid for all of the issued ordinary and
preference shares of Fitzwilton plc the Company is seeking cancellation of the
listing on the Irish Stock Exchange of its preference shares effective
immediately.

The listing for the Fitzwilton Plc ordinary shares was cancelled on September
18th.

On September 16th 1998 Salomon Smith Barney acting on behalf of Stoneworth
Investments ltd mailed compulsory acquisition notices under section 204.1 of
the Companies Act, to preference shareholders who had not at that date
accepted Stoneworth's offer.  Stoneworth Investment Ltd who had not at that
date accepted Stoneworth's offer.  Stoneworth Investment Ltd became the owner
of 100% of the preference shares on October 19th 1998.
