H Bartlam, a Director of the Company:

- purchase of 10,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company at a price of 469p on

19 December 2003

As a result of this purchase Mr T H Bartlam, a Director of the Company, is now
interested in 10,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company (0.05% of the issued
class of capital).
