Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE) said Monday that its DHL Freight unit would apply a surcharge during its peak season between September to December 2019.

DHL Freight will apply a surcharge of average 4% to all full-truckload, part-truckload and less-than-truckload deliveries in Europe, the German postal company said.

The move should enable the road freight-service provider to offer the highest-quality service even as demand outpaces capacity, it added. DHL Freight has also launched a driver-recruitment initiative to manage growing capacity constraints, it said.
