Fashion retailer Esprit Holdings Ltd. (0330.HK) intends to close all its North American stores and focus on finding one or more partners to license the brand, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday on its website, citing a company official.

"Our North American subsidiaries' current intentions are to close all stores in North America unless a potential partner for North America is interested in taking over any of the stores," Patrick Lau, head of investor relations and mergers and acquisitions, said in an email statement to Bloomberg. The retailer had 93 outlets in North America as of Sept. 15.
