Blue Diamond Ventures, Inc. to Host Reception for LU President Dr.
Ernest Holloway Feb. 16th on Capitol Hill HOUSTON, Feb. 8
/PRNewswire/ -- World dignitaries including congressional members,
ambassadors, a supreme court judge and other high ranking
government officials will be among the hundreds honoring Langston
University President Ernest L. Holloway on Feb. 16 on Capitol Hill.
During a reception to be held in the House Agriculture Committee
Conference Room of the Longworth Building from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30
p.m., Holloway, 74, will be recognized for 25 years of global
growth, service and academic achievement at the Oklahoma
institution. The reception is being hosted by Blue Diamond
Ventures, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: BLDV) and Langston University. The
entire Oklahoma Congressional Delegation will sponsor the
reception, along with former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and
former U.S. Representative J.C. Watts of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma
Congressional Delegation includes U.S. Senators James Inhofe and
Tom Coburn; and U.S. Representatives Frank Lucas, Tom Cole, Ernest
Istook, John Sullivan and Dan Boren. Fifteen other congressional
members are also sponsoring the event. "It has been Dr. Holloway's
vision, unwavering commitment and political astuteness that have
made Langston University a leading institution in the world," said
Blue Diamond CEO Quincey Moaning. "Dr. Holloway has been extremely
resourceful and innovative. He has accomplished so much with very
little." It is under Holloway's leadership as the 14th president
that Langston University's rapid growth and progressed has
occurred. Holloway built new apartments for students and a new
Agricultural Research Extension and Education Complex. He renovated
and expanded the Gayles Fieldhouse and Anderson Football Stadium on
the main campus. Holloway also established Langston urban centers
in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. A new $20 million facility is currently
under construction in Tulsa. Holloway also dramatically increased
enrollment and expanded the curriculum. The university now offers
eight associate degree programs, more than 30 academic programs,
two master's degrees, and the university has the only doctoral
program in physical therapy in Oklahoma. Langston University is
also home to the internationally acclaimed E. (Kika) de la Garza
Institute for Goat Research. The university is also credited with
making the catfish production a multimillion dollar industry in
Oklahoma. Recognizing Holloway's outstanding contributions, The
Oklahoma Legislature last year named the new four-lane portion of
Highway 33 between the Cimarron River Bridge (east of Langston and
the east edge of Guthrie) the "Dr. Ernest L. Holloway Highway." For
