Guggenheim Investments Announces Shareholder Approval of the Mergers of Certain Equity Closed-End Funds

Guggenheim Investments announced today that shareholders of several
equity closed-end funds approved the mergers outlined below.

Shareholders of GPM also approved a redomestication of GPM from
a Massachusetts business trust to a Delaware statutory trust.
Subject to the satisfaction of certain customary closing
conditions, the mergers are expected to be effective with the open
of the New York Stock Exchange on March 20, 2017. The mergers, if
completed, would occur based on the relative net asset values of
GGE, GEQ and GPM.
As previously announced, the mergers are intended to provide
potential benefits to common shareholders, including lower
operating expenses and greater secondary market liquidity, among
other things.
