Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX and MOLXA) today announced
Molex’s Brad® Ultra-Lock® Connection System has been selected as a
finalist in this year’s Chicago Innovation Awards. The Ultra-Lock
system’s innovative design virtually eliminates machine downtime
while alleviating repetitive motion injury (carpal tunnel); and its
unique “push-to-lock” system ensures a fast, reliable, and strong
connection every time, saving time and money.
As a finalist, Molex is also eligible for the first annual
People’s Choice Award. Anyone can visit
www.chicagoinnovationawards.com to register and vote for five of
their favorite companies by September 14.
“We are excited that our Ultra-Lock system was chosen as a
finalist for this year’s award,” said Chris Zimmerman, group
product manager, Molex Incorporated. “Innovation is a top priority
at Molex and we continually strive to develop products that address
our customers’ needs today and tomorrow. The Ultra-Lock Connection
System is a perfect example of how Molex innovation is driving the
industry’s next generation solutions.”
From the 75 finalist, the panel of judges will select the top 10
winners to be honored at the Chicago Innovation Awards ceremony
October 20 at the Goodman Theatre. The ten winners each year are
innovations that uniquely fill unmet needs, spark a competitive
response in the marketplace, exceed market expectations, achieve
financial success, and improve people’s lives.
Ultra-Lock is a push on, positive locking connector with a
unique radial seal design that delivers a secure, consistent seal
each and every time new with one simple push. It works by “pushing
down” to connect and “pulling up” to disconnect.
In an industrial environment, there are sometimes hundreds of
these types of connection systems on the manufacturing plant floor
that require frequent connecting and disconnecting. Users must make
sure that they make the connection each and every time or they run
the risk of equipment downtime or even failure. In addition, users
are at risk for physical harm due to the repetition of connecting
(it takes time and effort to ensure accuracy). With the Ultra-Lock,
the risk of equipment downtime and harm to users is virtually
eliminated.
Last year, Molex won a Chicago Innovation Award for its Solder
Charge™ SMT technology. To learn more about the Ultra-Lock
