COLUMBUS, Ind., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HomeFederal Bank
is changing its name to Indiana Bank and Trust Company, while
maintaining its same ownership, management and board of directors.
"In 2008, our bank celebrates its 100th year," said John Keach, Jr.
the bank's Chairman and CEO, in announcing the change today. "We
believe our new name marks a look forward in our service to our
customers, our communities, and the state we call home." "Our roots
are, and always have been, right here in Indiana," Keach said. "We
feel our new name better reflects our service to the south central
Indiana market and the products we offer the people who live and
work here." Keach noted that the past century has seen tremendous
growth for the bank. "There is much our founders wouldn't recognize
about Indiana Bank and Trust Company today," Keach said. "But 100
years later, our commitment to our customers and community is as
strong as ever." "Our attention to customer service and our pledge
to offer customers the most useful financial products available are
the same as they were the day we opened our doors as New Building
& Loan Association back in 1908 in Seymour," said Keach. The
change will take effect on March 1, 2008, with a new logo and
signage highlighting the roll-out. Customers will see no
operational changes and account numbers will remain the same.
Customers may continue to use their current supply of checks as
well as ATM and debit cards. The bank is a subsidiary of Home
Federal Bancorp (HOMF/NASDAQ), which, subject to shareholder
approval, plans to change its name to Indiana Community Bancorp
(INCB/NASDAQ). Headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, HomeFederal
serves south central Indiana with 21 locations from Greenwood to
Salem, and a commercial banking office in Indianapolis. DATASOURCE:
