Docket Search and Investigative Reporting Suite of Services recognized by the NASCIO State IT Recognition Awards and the Digital Government Achievement Awards

The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board’s Online Docket Search and Investigative Reporting Suite of Services is one of three recipients to receive the award in the Government-to-Government category by the 2014 Digital Government Achievement Awards (DGAA). The DGAA recognizes outstanding United States and international government projects at the application and infrastructure level.

In addition, the PPB Docket Search and Investigative Reporting Suite of Services also was honored as a finalist for the 2014 NASCIO State IT Recognition Awards in the Improving State Operations Category. The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) selected 33 IT initiatives in 11 categories as finalists for the State IT Recognition Awards. Projects and initiatives from NASCIO member states, territories, and the District of Columbia were eligible for nomination, and finalists were selected by NASCIO’s Awards Committee from a field of more than 100 nominees.

“These accolades symbolize the extraordinary benefits that the Docket Search and Investigative Reporting Suite of Services brings to the table,” said PPB Interim Executive Director Jari Askins. “Not only has the system saved the State of Oklahoma taxpayer dollars, but it has also provided a much needed revamp of an antiquated manual system. Additionally, our staff is able to focus on the accuracy of reporting for the Board, instead of tedious, paper intensive tasks.”

Askins said that since implementation of the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board Docket Search and Investigative Reporting Suite of Services, public and inter-agency communication levels have increased exponentially. In addition, Askins said the added efficiencies provided by the system have been extremely important to the Pardon and Parole Board, as the agency’s administrative staff has been significantly reduced in recent years.
