Eighth Annual EagleBank Foundation Fight Against Breast Cancer Golf Classic Raised Over $330,000

The eighth annual EagleBank Foundation Fight Against Breast Cancer
Golf Classic, held on October 8, 2012 at the Trump National Golf
Club, raised over $330,000. Proceeds from this event were used to
continue our support of research and outreach programs through our
partnership with the following local hospitals and organizations:
Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Suburban Hospital in Montgomery
County, MD, and Providence Hospital and Washington Hospital Center
in Washington, DC. Other beneficiaries were The Children's Inn at
The National Institutes of Health, Men Against Breast Cancer, the
Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County and the Wellness
Community.
Since the first golf tournament in 2005, the Foundation has
raised over $1,500,000 for the benefit of local area hospitals and
organizations in their fight against breast cancer. These
funds have enabled local hospitals and other cancer-focused
organizations in our community to continue ongoing research and
provide support services—all dedicated to putting an end to breast
cancer.
"We are so proud of our efforts to raise funds to help fight the
devastating effects that breast cancer has on all who are touched
by it," commented Donald R. Rogers (of Shulman, Rogers, Gandal,
Pordy & Ecker, P.A.), a director of EagleBank and the Chairman
of the EagleBank Foundation. "We have once again "over-sold"
this event. This is truly a testament to the passion and hard
work of our Committee members and everyone else involved in
organizing it. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of our
sponsors, players, contributors and volunteers, we are proud to
provide this much-needed funding for breast cancer programs and
services at these well-deserving local hospitals. I admire the
commitment and dedication of so many wonderful people that help
make this tournament such a success, year after year," he
concluded.
"Despite significant advances in treatment and prevention,
breast cancer remains the second leading cause of cancer death for
women in the United States. This annual event brings us in
contact with many others who share our commitment to help the fight
against breast cancer," commented EagleBank's Chairman and CEO
Ronald D. Paul. "We successfully raised over $330,000—as a
local, business bank, it is so important to give back to our
community. But we could not have done it without the support
of our employees, board members and their spouses, vendors and
suppliers, the hospitals, and our generous sponsors, donors and
players. We're so proud of these efforts—what a demonstration
of teamwork—and sincerely thank everyone involved. We look
forward to next year and another chance to make a difference in the
fight against breast cancer."
