would like to notify the market of the following:

 - South China Resources plc's share capital consists of 161,650,003 ordinary
shares with voting rights. The Company holds no shares in treasury.

 - Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 161,650,003.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the
calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their
