    Progress Update - Biologics for Spine


    WEDNESDAY, 9th July 2008 - Arthro Kinetics plc (AIM: AKI) ("Arthro Kinetics" or the "Company"), the orthopedics company dedicated to
regenerating joint mobility and spinal disc function provides an update to its spinal development program.

    Following an extensive program of biomechanical testing Arthro Kinetics' lead nucleus replacement product has successfully attained all
of its in-vitro and safety goals and will now enter pre-clinical studies in the second half of 2008. If successful, the Company expects to
initiate a first in man study for this implant in early 2009.

    This internal program also provided the foundation for the discovery of a novel, proprietary annulus closure device. Arthro Kinetics has
filed patent applications for this innovative device, which though highly complementary to the nucleus replacement product, is of itself a
significant new opportunity for Arthro Kinetics. The Company expects this device to enter human studies in 2009.

    In 2007 Arthro Kinetics began the development of its novel, proprietary collagen matrix for use as a nucleus replacement (of the
intervertebral disc of the spine). The nucleus replacement implant aims to provide a solution for degenerative disc disease which is more
effective than pain management but significantly less invasive than current decompression procedures such as fusion.  As with other Arthro
Kinetics' products under development the focus is on treating patients early in order to prevent further degeneration and pain.
