Stellantis appointed Carlos Zarlenga as its new North America chief operating officer as the Jeep maker seeks to rev up its electrification efforts in the region.

The European carmaker said Tuesday that Zarlenga will replace Mark Stewart from Feb. 1 and will be tasked with driving further improvements in the company's performance in North America.

Zarlenga joined Stellantis in 2022 as president of its Mexico business, the company said.
