Solvay SA (SOLB.BT) said Tuesday that it has entered a joint agreement with SGL Carbon SE (SGL.XE) to develop advanced carbon-fiber composite materials for aerospace primary structures.

These materials, which are based on SGL Carbon's large-tow IM carbon fiber and Solvay's primary structure resin systems, will improve the production process and fuel efficiency of next-generation commercial aircraft, the Belgian chemical company said.
