The Courtyard Portland City Center (Ore.) will be the first LEED -Gold hotel in Marriott's portfolio. The Courtyard Chevy Chase (Md.) is expected to receive LEED certification by year-end. WHAT: In Portland, Ore., Scot Horst will present the GOLD plaque to the CEO of Sage Hospitality, Walter Isenberg, and GM of the Courtyard Portland City Center, Mike Castro. Some of the hotel's green features include uniforms made of recycled plastic bottles and a kitchen waste composting program that includes turning used cooking oil into biodiesel fuel.
