Anglo-Dutch consumer goods group Unilever PLC (UN, UL) is to name Jean-Marc Huet as chief financial officer, a person familiar with the matter said Monday.

Huet is joining Unilever from U.S pharmaceuticals company Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY), where he is currently serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Unilever, which owns brands such as Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Dove soap and Lynx deodorant, declined to comment.

Bristol-Myers Squibb said Monday Huet would be leaving the group at the end of the year to "return to Europe."

Huet joined Bristol-Myers on March 31, 2008, having previously served at Royal Numico NV in Holland. He has also worked at Goldman Sachs in London and Clement Trading in Italy.

Unilever's Chief Financial Officer Jim Lawrence announced his intention to step down last week. Unilever said at the time his replacement would be announced shortly.

Lawrence was thought to be in the running for the top job at Unilever until Paul Polman was appointed chief executive officer from rival Nestle SA (NESN.VX) in 2008.
