French aerospace components maker Latecoere SA (LAT.FR) Tuesday said it has held talks with potential industrial partners but is yet to make a decision.

"The company is still looking for a solution," a spokeswoman for Latecoere told Dow Jones Newswires. "Certain discussions are well advanced, but no option is preferred for the moment and there is no timetable set."

French business daily La Tribune reported earlier Tuesday that the company would prefer a takeover by European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. NV (EAD.FR), although other potential suitors include Chinese aerospace group Avic Aero-Engine Controls Co. (000738.SZ), U.S.-based Spirit Aerosystems Holdings Inc. (SPR), Dutch aerospace components maker Fokker and the U.K.'s GKN PLC (GKN.LN).

Latecoere has for some time been looking for an industrial partner to make it more competitive in tough global markets.
