WatchGuard Helps Strengthen ''Weakest Link'' in Network Security with New End User Training Tool; Launches SecurityWise Session

WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:WGRD), a leading provider of
Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, has introduced a new
tool to help network administrators educate and train end users on
network security issues. The new SecurityWise sessions are
available at no extra charge as part of LiveSecurity, WatchGuard's
subscription service for vulnerability alerts, software updates,
expert security instruction, and individualized and self-help
customer care. LiveSecurity subscribers will have access to a new
SecurityWise training module each calendar quarter. The first
SecurityWise module, available now, focuses on how end users can
handle e-mail safely. Additional modules, released throughout the
year, will help solve security issues with road warriors and
telecommuters, improve password use and help end users Web surf
more safely, avoiding spyware. Each SecurityWise training module
includes a PowerPoint presentation on a relevant security topic,
video demonstrations of key concepts and extensive speaker's notes
and handouts. The modules are designed for presenters of any level,
and all components are in language that non-technical users can
understand. SecurityWise also includes quantifiable course
objectives so network administrators can measure how user awareness
improves after taking the classes. "With the increasing amount of
security regulations and legislation that demand compliance,
network administrators are under more pressure than ever. Many feel
confident about the security measures they've put it place, but are
concerned about the trouble their end users might stumble into,
especially since network administrators don't always have the time
or resources to prepare lessons and hold formal training sessions,"
said Scott Pinzon, Editor-in-Chief of WatchGuard's LiveSecurity
Service. "With SecurityWise, we hope to change that, so end users
will no longer be thought of as the 'weakest link' in network
security." "WatchGuard's SecurityWise is an excellent resource
which I'm certain to use again," said Phillip Hotz, VP of
Technology at The Ohio State Bank. "My associates and I found it to
be the most useful training aid we have seen; accurate, simple to
deploy and easy to complete. We enthusiastically recommend the
service to any organization looking for an effective way to educate
their staff and end users on security issues." WatchGuard's
LiveSecurity Service issued more than 150 broadcasts to WatchGuard
customers in 2005. WatchGuard's LiveSecurity team regularly
monitors more than 100 sources to track issues, determines the
impact on and relevance to businesses, rates the level of each
issue, and then broadcasts alerts and advice on the most severe
threats. For more information about WatchGuard's LiveSecurity
