PSA Peugeot Citroën (Paris:UG):

At its Board Meeting today, the PSA Peugeot Citroën Foundation – A World on the Move appointed Carlos Tavares Chairman, effective immediately, to replace Philippe Varin, whose term of office ended last 31 March.Two new directors were appointed to renew the Board’s membership.

Today, Carlos Tavares was appointed Chairman of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Foundation. At the same meeting, membership of the nine-member Board of Directors was partially renewed in compliance with the Foundation’s governance guidelines. Maxime Picat, Chief Executive Officer of the Peugeot Brand, was appointed to the Board, where he will help to strengthen the brand's involvement in the Foundation's activities. He replaces Christophe Bergerand, who previously held this position. Hugues Dufour was also appointed to the Board as a qualified independent director.

More than 240 projects supported since 2011Launched in May 2011, the Foundation locally supports social, educational and cultural projects related to mobility, leveraging the input and involvement of Group employees.Over the past three years, it has financed 244 projects.As its core activity, the Foundation has chosen to focus on extensive initiatives to encourage socially responsible mobility:

  • By developing community mobility platforms, in particular through the MOUV’UP nationwide partnership formed with the French federation of road safety associations for education (FARE), which is deploying mobility services to facilitate social mainstreaming and employment opportunities for people who are vulnerable or isolated from the job market. A total of 20 such platforms have been or will be created across France in 2013 and 2014.
  • By supporting pilot inclusive mobility programmes designed to remove barriers to mobility arising from economic factors, cognitive impairments or address-based discrimination.
