The Parole Board teams up with Colorado.gov
to launch their website in just three weeks and at no cost to the
state
The Colorado Board of Parole unveiled their first-ever website
last week at https://www.colorado.gov/paroleboard. The website was
built in order to more effectively comply with the Colorado
Sunshine Law, (CRS 24-6-402), allowing the Parole Board to
communicate public information such as parole hearings.
Prior to their new website going live, there was no process in
place for the Board of Parole to directly share information with
the public. In order to locate parole hearing information, you had
to visit the Colorado Department of Corrections website. Now,
information on the parole board is offered up in an efficient way
that gets knowledge out to the community and allows for better
transparency.
“Our new website is designed to help us provide
information about the Parole Board to the general public. We are
committed to public safety and public service,” said Brandon
Shaffer, Chair of the Colorado Parole Board.
Working with Colorado.gov, the Parole Board was able to create
and launch their website within three weeks of the planning phase.
In addition to parole hearing information, constituents will also
be able to learn more about the Parole Board and its members, view
governing rules for parole proceedings and peruse their calendar
for events.
Since 2004, SIPA and Colorado Interactive, dba Colorado.gov,
have partnered to provide more than 200 no-cost websites to
governments across Colorado. Their goal is to accelerate the
adoption of electronic government services by placing more Colorado
government products, services and information online. SIPA and
Colorado.gov are happy to see more and more governments, like the
Parole Board, striving for that goal as well.
