Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI), a global leader in high-performance signal processing technology, today announced the company has been named as one of the world's most innovative companies according to the Thomson Reuters 2013 Top 100 Global InnovatorSM program. Using proprietary data and analysis tools, the Thomson Reuters award program identifies corporations and organizations that are world leaders in innovation. This is the third consecutive year that Analog Devices has received this prestigious honor.

“Having the commitment to drive breakthrough innovations is the backbone of ADI’s success and the driving force behind our recognition as the world’s leader in signal processing,” said Emre Onder, Vice President, Analog Devices. “Innovation is in our DNA, and ADI remains committed to pioneering new products, technologies and solutions while working with the best companies in the world.”

The Thomson Reuters Top 100 global innovator award is based on patent data and related metrics. The four key criteria include: innovation patent volume, patent success rate, globalization and influence. The report looked closely at how successful companies were in securing patents, the influence of patents in subsequent inventions and whether the patents were globally protected.

In announcing the 2013 Top 100 global innovators listing, Thomson Reuters stated that the award winners “represent the vanguard of 21st century innovation. They are a group of businesses and research institutions that recognize that great ideas are only half of the strategic equation. The other essential component is the protection of those ideas with intellectual property rights, so they can be commercialized and leveraged around the world therefore reaching their full potential.”
