TPG LAUNCHES EUROPE'S FIRST INTEGRATED E-FULFILLMENT SYSTEM
TNT Post Group set to become European leader in global demand chain management

TNT Post Group N.V. (TPG), the global provider of mail, express and logistics
services, today announced that it will launch @TNT, a newly designed Demand
Chain Management system, staking the ground in what is rapidly becoming the new
business frontier - e-fulfillment. The unique demand chain management system
positions TNT as the European leader in providing global fulfillment services
for the business-to-business e-commerce market.

Demand Chain Management leverages TNT's proven logistics and distribution
capabilities and its strong global infrastructure, to provide a single point of
control for the entire e-transaction: order management; payment processing;
warehousing; transportation and delivery; and post-transaction management
(returns, repairs, customer service).

By integrating these five activities and managing information flows among them,
TNT is able to provide highly customised, cost-effective, fast and reliable
solutions for complex e-fulfillment requirements. Working with leading IT
partners, TNT has developed an intelligent order processing and sourcing system,
enabling it to orchestrate and execute domestic, cross-border and global
e-fulfillment orders.

Recognising that speed-to-market and scalability are high priorities for its
customers, TNT designed the modular system to immediately adjust to changes in
demand, suppliers or delivery territories. With Demand Chain Management, TNT
can link and re-link its own logistics and distribution networks with customer
assets or even third-party providers to meet the specific and changing needs of
businesses selling over the Internet.

"Too often e-fulfillment is spoken of in terms of warehouses and delivery
capability," said Ad Scheepbouwer, chairman and CEO of TPG. "Successful
e-fulfillment is much more than that - it is the skilled design, implementation
and orchestration of every step in the demand chain. @TNT capitalises on our
proven expertise - intelligently facilitating the movement of goods, information
and payments - to the benefit of our customers doing business electronically.

Current predictions about the global expansion of e-commerce, especially the
business-to-business market, suggest exponential growth over the next three
years. In Europe, many of the barriers that have impaired the speed of
e-commerce development, such as transportation and labour regulations, low PC
penetration and high connection costs, have now been lowered or removed. As a
result, European e-commerce is expected to grow rapidly and could even exceed
current forecasts.

Says Scheepbouwer: "It is no secret that our industry is ideally placed to
benefit from the e-commerce boom. TNT, as the European-based leader in mail,
express and logistics, is already fulfilling e-companies' distribution and
logistics needs. Now, with Demand Chain Management, we are able to provide a
full, flexible and integrated service that will meet current and future
e-commerce demands."

TNT is now piloting its Demand Chain Management system with selected customers
in targeted industries such as automotive, electronics and pharmaceuticals, and
plans to rollout the system commercially during the second half of 2000.

TNT Post Group with its two brands TNT and Royal PTT Post, is a global provider
of mail, express and logistic services. It employs more than 100,000 people in
60 countries and serves over 200 countries. The company had sales of NLG 16.3
billion in 1998. TPG is publicly listed on the stock exchanges of Amsterdam,
New York, London and Frankfurt.
