Publication of Supplementary Prospectus by Westpac Banking Corporation and 
WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited

The following supplementary prospectus has been approved by the United Kingdom 
Listing Authority (the "UKLA") and is available for viewing:

Supplementary prospectus dated 2 May 2008 (the "Supplementary Prospectus") to
the Base Prospectus dated 9 November 2007 relating to the Programme for the
Issuance of Debt Instruments established by Westpac Banking Corporation and
WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited (acting through its London branch) and
unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Westpac Banking Corporation in the
case of instruments issued by WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited. The
Supplementary Prospectus, amongst other things, incorporates by reference:
     
(1)  Westpac Banking Corporation's consolidated unaudited interim financial 
     statements as at and for the six month period ended 31 March 2008 as set 
     out on pages 5 to 20 of Westpac Banking Corporation's interim financial 
     report dated 31 March 2008; and

(2)  WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited's unaudited interim financial statements 
     as at and for the six month period ended 31 March 2008 as set out on pages 
     7 to 12 of WestpacTrust Securities NZ Limited's interim financial 
     statements dated 31 March 2008, (together, the "Interim Financial 
     Statements").
