Riversdale Mining Ltd. (RIV.AU) said Thursday that its joint venture vehicle has agreed to buy 50% of the Benga power plant in Mozambique from Elgas SARL. The financial details weren't disclosed.

The joint venture with India's Tata will move to full ownership of the plant, which is scheduled to deliver power in 2013-2014, Riversdale Mining said in a statement.

Riversdale owns 65% of the joint venture and Tata owns 35%.
