German supplier Robert Bosch GmbH said Tuesday it is operating business as usual with General Motors Corp. (GM) after the U.S. automaker filed for bankruptcy protection Monday.

"We are operating business as usual and shipping products. We will monitor the situation closely and continue to communicate with GM daily as it pursues restructuring," Bosch said in a statement.

Bosch is listed in the bankruptcy filing as one of GM's major creditors with a trade debt of $66.2 million.

"We expect that the bankruptcy process will allow GM to reorganize its business to be more competitive in the global automotive industry. Bosch's association with GM spans many decades and we intend to continue that business relationship, offering a broad range of technologies that meet GM's needs," Bosch added.
