Consumer goods giant Unilever PLC (UN, UL) said Thursday its
Chief Financial Officer Jim Lawrence has resigned from its board
and will leave at the end of the year.
Lawrence has been with the company for just over two years and
is 57 years old.
"Having seen the company through an important period of
transition, I'm now looking forward to pursuing new opportunities,"
he said in a statement.
Chief Executive Paul Polman--who took the helm of the
Anglo-Dutch group in January--wished Lawrence well and thanked him
for "the valuable experience and perspective he brought to Unilever
during an important period in the company's development."
The company said it will announce a successor shortly and that
Lawrence would make himself available in the new year to ensure "a
smooth transition."
