Texans Join Campaign and Trigger Thousands of Meal Donations to
Feed the Hungry ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 25
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Texas is famous for its barbeques, rodeos
and love for football. It is also filled with kind, caring people
who are making a difference by simply sharing a story. In fact,
thousands of Texans have told their stories of sharing on
http://www.spreadthesharing.com/ and in doing so, have helped to
feed families in need. With each story shared on the site, a
meal(1) is provided to a hungry family through America's Second
Harvest-The Nation's Food Bank Network. Sponsored by Shedd's
Country Crock(R), the campaign challenges Americans to share one
million sharing stories by Thanksgiving 2007. To date, more than
275,000 meals have been donated. From baking cookies for a neighbor
to bringing flowers to a friend, Texans across the state celebrate
the power of sharing. Some of the stories include caring folks like
Virginia of Fort Worth. On Christmas day, she noticed a man in need
of food. Virginia returned home to fix him a warm meal then drove
back to share it with him. In Lubbock, Amy prepares home-cooked
meals for new mothers and delivers them daily the first week mom
and baby are home from the hospital. Other Texas-sized sharing
stories include gifts of time, talents and special abilities. In
Katy, Brenda's family began a tradition when she was a child that
she shares with her own children today. Every Christmas, she and
her children pick a toy and share it with a less fortunate child in
their community. In Corpus Christi, Shae shares his free time by
reading to young children at the local library and helps them learn
and grow as individuals. These and other acts of sharing posted on
the http://www.spreadthesharing.com/ not only have a positive
impact in communities across Texas but also help feed families at
risk nationwide. Like Amy, Shae and their fellow Texans, there are
countless others across the country who have shared inspirational
stories and are making a difference in their communities. To share
your story and help feed a family in need, simply visit Spread The
Sharing at http://www.spreadthesharing.com/ and help Country Crock
donate up to one million meals by Thanksgiving 2007. About Unilever
