LONDON (Dow Jones)--Base metals are mostly higher on the London Metal Exchange Wednesday, recouping some of the previous day's heavy losses ahead of the evening's much-awaited European Union summit, although markets participants remain cautious of the sustainability of gains.

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Base metals closed the day mostly lower on the London Metal Exchange Wednesday, following a volatile trading session that saw the metals swing in wide ranges on the back of newsflow out of the Europe.
