ATLANTA, April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadspire, a
Crawford Company and leading third party administrator of workers
compensation claims, liability claims and medical management
services, has named Lorraine Shriner
to the position of Atlanta service
center manager.
Shriner is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the
claims managed by the Atlanta
service center remains at its current high level. She directs a
staff of 65 claims professionals and support personnel.
"Lorraine has demonstrated her leadership skills in a wide
variety of roles during her long career," said Don McPherson, vice president of casualty claims
– Eastern Division, to whom Shriner reports. "She brings a great
deal of expertise and a true understanding of our clients' needs to
her new position, and we look forward to her continued
success."
Shriner began her career in the workers compensation industry as
a claims specialist in Richmond,
Va. She was promoted to a number of leadership positions
that took her from Richmond to
Dallas and then to Atlanta, where she served as branch claim
manager. In that role, Shriner worked to consolidate four claim
offices, created a resolution/specialty team and participated in a
number of other projects designed to improve operations and
performance.
Following Crawford's
acquisition of Broadspire in 2006, Shriner assisted with the
transition of the organization and became a team manager and later
assistant service center manager.
Shriner has been in the insurance industry for 30 years and
holds the Associate in Claims (AIC), Workers' Compensation Claim
Law Associate (WCLA) and Certified Workers' Compensation
Professional (CWCP) designations. She is pursuing the Associate in
Risk Management (ARM) certification.
A Special Olympics volunteer, Shriner also supports the Down
Syndrome Association of Atlanta
and FOCUS (Families of Children Under Stress).
