CLARCOR Inc. (NYSE: CLC) today announced that it has signed an agreement with the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) to supply advanced filtration products and systems for the US Navy. DSCC is part of the Defense Logistics Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. Based in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, DSCC manages more than $2 billion in spare parts purchases from more than 20,000 military and civilian suppliers. This agreement between DSCC and CLARCOR is the first Supply Chain Alliance signed by DSCC Maritime Supplier Operations. DSCC had worked with various CLARCOR divisions in the past. This Supply Chain Alliance, an outgrowth of DSCC's Supplier Relationship Management initiative, will bring all the CLARCOR divisions under a single, Total Filtration Program contract. Maritime Supplier Operations director Ann Bradway said the new Supply Chain Alliance will improve the Defense Logistics Agency's relationship with an important supplier. "You may be efficient with an arms-length, transaction-based, reactive-type relationship, but if we want to take a great leap forward, and we do because our customers are ever more demanding, this is the way we want to go," she said. "The bottom line is, it's really all about supporting the warfighter the best way we can." Norm Johnson, CLARCOR's Chairman & CEO, said, "This is an important relationship for CLARCOR. Not only are we privileged to be able to support our armed forces, but this alliance with DSCC will increase our ability to service a very important customer by coordinating DSCC's filter purchases in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This is truly a win-win for both DSCC and CLARCOR." CLARCOR is based in Franklin, Tennessee, and is a diversified marketer and manufacturer of mobile, industrial and environmental filtration products and consumer and industrial packaging products sold in domestic and international markets. Common shares of the Company are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CLC. Further information on CLARCOR can be found at www.clarcor.com.
