                  ARTHUR SHAW & COMPANY PLC ("the Company")



The Company announces that it has made an application to the UK Listing
Authority and to the London Stock Exchange for the admission to the Official
List of the UK Listing Authority and trading on the London Stock Exchange of
2,000,000 Ordinary Shares pursuant to the Section 89 of the Companies Act 1985
authority granted at the Annual General Meeting on 28th February, 2001.



It is expected that admission to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority
and trading on the London Stock Exchange of the above block listing will
become effective on 10th July, 2001.
