Board Appointment


The board of Medisys ("the Board") is pleased to announce the appointment of
Mr Kurt Edward Amundson as President and Chief Operating Officer.  Mr Amundson
was previously Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MetraBiosystems
Inc. - a NASDAQ listed biomedical company.

Mr Amundson, aged 45, currently holds no company directorships or
partnerships, and has not been a partner or a director of any company for the
past five years.

Mr Amundson has been granted an option by Medisys to subscribe for 3,400,000
new ordinary shares exercisable on or before 27 April 2004 at an exercise
price of 30p per share compared to the closing mid market price of 29p per
Medisys share on 27 April 1998, the date on which the terms of the option
arrangement were agreed between Medisys and Mr Amundson.  It is intended that
Medisys will grant to Mr Amundson a further option to subscribe for 4,900,000
new ordinary shares at an exercise price of 60p per share subject to
shareholders of Medisys passing certain resolutions relating to the share
capital of the Company. 

Up to one third of the total of each of these options may be exercised for
each completed year of Mr Amundson's employment with the Company subject to
certain targets being achieved.  

Mr Amundson has confirmed that this announcement includes all the necessary
information relating to himself which is required to be disclosed under
16.11(e) of the AIM Admission Rules.
