   EXCITE JOINS WITH SCOOT (UK) LTD TO CREATE TOP LOCAL
                      FINDING SERVICE
                             
Excite Inc. a leading Internet media company, and Scoot,  a
subsidiary of Freepages plc, have joined forces to create a
comprehensive   easy-to-use  and   locally-driven   finding
service.  The service, ExciteScoot will be available at the
end    of    November    through   the    Excite    Network
(www.excite.co.uk)  and  will  draw  on  Scoots   complete
business and entertainment listings.

There  are  over 2 million records divided into over  2,300
key  words  covering more than 20,000 locations nationally.
The constantly updated database - one of the UKs largest -
ensures close to 100 per cent accuracy.

For  the  consumer whos interested in food,  for  example,
theres  an  accurate and up-to-date listing of just  about
everything  they  could  want  from  the  nearest   Chinese
takeaway  to  the  closest  chemist  for  a  new  batch  of
indigestion  tablets.   This service allows  high  leverage
into  the corporate sector, opening up possible advertising
sales as well as on-net transactions in the near future.

But closer to home, if the plumbings a little suspect,  or
the  gas  boilers about to blow, ExciteScoot will  quickly
locate emergency help.
