Quepasa Corporation (NYSE Amex: QPSA), the public market leader for social discovery and owner of North-American platform myYearbook and Latin-American platform Quepasa, today announced the launch of "Locals" on myYearbook, a new feature that enables myYearbook's 30+ million users to meet new people in their local communities. myYearbook Locals is available now on Android and the company plans to launch it soon on iPhone, iPad, and the web.

By tapping into GPS on the mobile device, Locals allows myYearbook members to run proximity-based searches to meet new people nearby, anywhere in the world, based upon their current location. Members can elect to restrict their search to people who are currently online and who match their age and gender.

"If you don't enjoy someone's company, if you don't like their jokes, if you can't stand their conversation, you shouldn't be with them. No dating-site algorithm will ever substitute for meeting up in person and establishing a friendship."
