Eni SpA said late Monday that it has signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Congo to jointly develop the agro-biofuel sector in the country.

The oil-and-gas major said the agreement set the framework for industrial scale production of castor oil, providing feedstock for the company's bio-refinery system. A pilot phase is planned to start this month, Eni said.
